Estimates $150B Market
Promoters of the
10th annual Marketing to U.S. Hispanics & Latin America conference scheduled
in Miami Beach, Jan. 26-27 said the latest statistics place the U.S. Hispanic
population at 40.5 million, with an additional 3.9 million in Puerto Rico.
"This surging segment is expected to spend $150 billion on
transportation, housing, food and beverage," organizers said. "But the latest
research has uncovered trends that are beyond what we had originally
envisioned."
The conference at the Roney Palace Beach Resort Hotel is set
to feature more than 35 experts from companies investing in reaching out to
Hispanic consumers in the United States and Latin America. Companies scheduled
to appear include America Online, Columbia House, Hallmark, Heineken USA,
Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, MasterCard, Nextel, NBA, Warner Bros. and Wells
Fargo.
